When you go to your local market pick up an avocado and give it a light squeeze. It should have a firm feel yet when pressure is applied it should yield. Do your eyes burn and water up every time you peel or chop onions? Mine do, every single time! It’s so frustrating because I’m just trying to cook and get things done. When I learned this simple hack it changed the game for me. The reason our eyes water when we cut onions is because the chemicals in the onion are attracted to moisture.
