21 Vegan Recipes With Complete Proteins

What is a complete protein?

It is a food that contains all 9 essential amino acids necessary for the human diet.

It’s important to not only consume protein but also the right kinds of protein. 20 amino acids comprise a single protein. 11 of these are produced by our body. However there are 9 amino acids that we can not produce on our own.

The complete protein foods ingredients in these vegan recipes include Tofu, Hemp Seeds, Nutritional Yeast, Chia Seeds, and Spirulina.

So that means the other 9 amino acids have to come from an outside food source. These are called essential amino acids. A few particle plant based foods contain all 9.

Spirulina is a complete protein. It contains antioxidants that reduce redness and inflammation. In fact, It contains 4X the antioxidants than berries. 

They are loaded with antioxidants and all carbs are fiber. Chia seeds absorb moisture creating a jelly like texture. This helps you feel full longer.

Hemp seeds are high in proteins, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. They contain omega 3 and 6, vitamin E, calcium, iron, and so much more.

This spinach quiche was the best meal prep idea. I baked it one evening and allowed t to chill in the fridge overnight. In the morning it was the tastiest breakfast.

Soy is a complete protein also!

Almond flour is a great healthy breading to use on tofu nuggets. Combine with two tablespoons curry spice and whisk. I had no issue coating these tofu nuggets in my curry seasoned flour without the use of oils of any kind.

This is my absolute favorite way to eat tofu. The Crunchy outside and firm inside is the best tofu nugget. 

Curry spice mix originated from India. The main spices are usually coriander, turmeric, cumin, fenugreek, and chili powder.  Additional spices may include ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and black pepper.
