Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

I love making these air fryer sweet potato fries. They are perfectly sweet and salty. Not to mention crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. My whole family loves to eat this vegan side dish

Air fryer recipes are amazing because they don’t need oil and crisp up so delightfully. An air fryer is a countertop kitchen appliance like a toaster oven or waffle maker. It circulates hot air around food in order to cook it. Most air fryers come in a two-liter to six-liter capacity and can cost anywhere from $70 to $200 depending on the model.

Yams make the best plant based side dish because these are so nutritious. They contain simple starches, complex carbs, and dietary fiber. Additionally they contain beta-carotene which is a pro vitamin A carotenoid. Everyone will love this family friendly vegan recipe.

Air fryer sweet potato fries also contain vitamin B5, vitamin B6, and Manganese. They also provide vitamin C, calcium, iron, and zinc. These are just some of the reasons why this air fryer recipe is healthy and delicious.

This plant based side dish is so easy to make

You only need 4 or 5 simple ingredients to make this air fryer sweet potato fries. Ingredients include 1 medium sweet potato, 1 tbsp coconut oil (optional), and 1/2 tbsp salt. Also 1 tsp black pepper and 1 tsp nutmeg.

The directions are so easy as well. First, use a vegetable peeler to remove the sweet potato skin. Unless you like the skin then leaving it on it fine. Next, cut your sweet potato into approximately 1/4 inch thick French fries (size does not have to be perfect, just do your best to make them similar in size so they cook evenly)

In a medium to large mixing bowl add the sweet potato fries, melted coconut oil (optional) and seasoning, and toss. The best way to make the sweet potato fries evenly cooked and crispy is to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer basket.

Spray the air fryer basket with non stick cooking spray (optional but helps to avoid sticking to the basket and for easier removal). This delicious plant based snack is easy, gluten free, and paleo!

Next, spread out an even layer of sweet potato fries in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes then use a spatula to flip the fries over. Cook again for another 5 to 8 minutes until thoroughly cooked and crispy. If they still seem a little soft or uncooked try cooking for another 3 to 5 minutes in the air fryer. These sweet potato French fries are great for kids and adults alike!

Ingredients

  • 1 Medium Sweet potato

Instructions
