Cashews are the best plant based ingredient for sauces. These healthy nuts only need about 4 hours of soaking time. This is shorter than most other nuts. They make great vegan pasta sauces.

This is because they are more porous than others. Cashews absorb liquid quickly making them easy to blend. Cashews are a main ingredient in this baked vegan Alfredo sauce and similar vegan recipes.

These cashew nuts are rich in protein, fiber, and calcium. Also vitamin E, C, and K. They are also abundant in various B vitamins. No wonder they are used for vegan cheese sauces!

This baked cashew Alfredo sauce is plant based and paleo. Other ingredients include Egg Replacer, nutritional yeast, and other spices. 

Bobs Red Mill Egg Replacer is an awesome plant based binding agent. This company makes two of these products. One is gluten free and one isn’t. You can use the same portion of either. 

Other ingredients include vegan butter, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. You also need water and pasta noodles of your choice. 

Instructions are easy for this dairy free pasta recipe. Start by Soaking cashews for a Minimum of 4 hours. Then Drain cashews from water in a medium mixing bowl. Keep the cashew water!

This plant based pasta recipe is great for the entire family!

Blend cashews alone first then add butter. Add cashew water back in and blend. Next Add all dry ingredients and blend until smooth. Then cook pasta noodles of your choice.

You need to Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Put pasta in a baking pan and smother with cashew sauce. Lastly bake for 25 minutes! I like to sprinkle to top with more nutritional yeast. 

Just use gluten free pasta and gluten free Egg Replacer of you need a gluten free recipe. Can also replace with equal portions almond flour.

  • 1/4 cup vegan butter
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup cashews raw, unsalted
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp Bobs Red Mill Egg Replacer r any egg replacer that contains wheat gluten is fine
  • 3 tbsp cashew water
  • 2 cups pasta noodles dry


  1. Soak cashews in water over night. (Minimum 4 hours)

  2. Drain cashews from water in a medium mixing bowl. Keep cashew water!

  3. Blend cashews first then add butter and cashew water and blend.

  4. Add all dry ingredients and blend until smooth

  5. cook pasta noodles of your choice.

  6. Preheat oven to 350

  7. Put pasta in baking pan, smother with cashew sauce.

  8. bake for 25 minutes
