In the hot summer months, I love cooling off with a frozen treat. Classic ice cream is full of questionable ingredients, sugar, and not to mention… dairy. Whether you’re a committed vegan or just looking for some healthier alternatives, these vegan “nice cream” and sorbet recipes will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Many of these recipes are also free of refined sugars. So, they get their sweetness from the fruit alone, or additions like maple syrup. I also love topping some of these recipes with crushed dark chocolate or coconut to get that crunch factor.
So, let’s dive into some of these tasty dessert and snack options. I know some of them look pretty fancy, but they’re honestly a breeze to make!
1. Cherry Garcia Nice Cream
This nice cream was inspired by the classic Cherry Garcia Ben and Jerries icecream. It’s made with only 5 ingredients, and you probably have them on hand already!

2. Avocado Nice Cream
If you have never tried avocado in a frozen treat, trust me, you’re gonna want to. Avocado adds are irresistible creaminess to nice cream, and its full of healthy fats. This delicious treat is also gluten-free, and best of all… no ice-cream maker needed!

3. Chocolate Chickpea Ice Cream
I know, I know… another weird ingredient for a dessert. Chickpeas? Yes! Believe it or not, chickpeas make an amazing addition to vegan desserts. This recipe is free of nuts, dairy and coconut. It’s a creamy and decadent chocolate ice-cream made with chickpeas. Don’t knock it till you try it!

4. Lavender Nice Cream
This nice cream is free of added sugar and made with one of my favorite ingredients, lavender. It’s such a unique flavor, and sprinkled with fresh berries or coconut, it’s truly unique and delicious.

5. Healthy Peanut Butter Ice Cream
This wouldn’t be a list of healthy ice cream without peanut butter on it. This nice cream is no-churn, and it’s super creamy and tasty. I LOVE peanut butter desserts, and this one doesn’t even taste healthy.

6. Vegan Banana Pudding Ice Cream
Is your mouth watering yet? If you’re a fan of banana pudding, you’ll want to try this vegan banana pudding nice cream. It’s a great treat for summer (or any time of year, really).

7. Vegan Matcha Ice Cream
I like to drink an iced matcha the mornings I’m not drinking coffee. It has such a unique flavor and when combined in a dessert as a frozen treat, it’s SO good. Green tea ice-cream is standard in many restaurants and I love this light and tasty treat.
