Ingredients

Homemade air fryer corn nuts ingredients
  • Chickpeas – you only need one can of chickpeas for this recipe (drained), but feel free to double to even triple the recipe as you need.
  • Olive oil – I like using olive oil, but you can also use vegetable oil or avocado oil
  • Smoked paprika – smoked paprika is very different than regular paprika. I encourage you to look for smoked paprika as it imparts a much different flavor!
  • Chili powder – all the classic chili/bbq flavor comes from the chili powder in this recipe.
  • Garlic powder – garlic powder is a key ingredient in these tasty homemade corn nuts.

How to make homemade corn nuts in the air fryer

Preheat air fryer to 400°F

Rinse the chickpeas in a colander and drain well. Gently blot with paper towels to absorb excess moisture.

Air fry the chickpeas for 14 minutes in an even layer, shaking the air fryer basket every 3-4 minutes. Cook time will depend on the size of your air fryer, but 14 minutes is a good amount of time to aim for.

Once the chickpeas are finished air frying, pour them into a large bowl and allow them to cool and dry for 1 hour at room temperature.

Toss in olive oil.

Mix the seasonings together in a small bowl, then pour over the chickpeas and stir well to combine.

Store for up to 1 week in an airtight  container.

Recipe Tip

Spray your air fryer basket with a thin layer of oil to prevent sticking.
