Hemp seeds are actual superfoods. These  tiny seeds are extremely nutritious in plant based recipes. Hemp seeds are packed with healthy fats, protein and many minerals. 

They are Also known as as hemp hearts and are packed with healthy fats like omega 3 and omega 6. Hemp seeds are rich in protein also, they are even called complete proteins! They add a nutty flavor to vegan taco meat.

Hemp seeds also provide vitamin E, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium. Also magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron and zinc. Not only healthy, they have a delicious nutty flavor. They taste so great in this easy vegan tempeh recipe.

Here are the ingredients needed to cook this healthy plant protein based recipe. 1 (13 oz) brick of tempeh, 1/4 cup hemp seeds and 1 clove garlic (chopped). Also1/4 cup white onions (chopped) and 2 tbsp olive oil.

You can technically use any seasoning you want in this easy vegan tempeh recipe. However I’ve included what I used to make this vegan plant based recipe. I used approximately 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, and 1 tsp cumin. Also 1 tsp cayenne pepper and 1 tbsp nutritional yeast.

Directions for this healthy whole food tempeh recipe are so simple also. Start by Prepping the onions, garlic, and tempeh. Crumble up tempeh with your hands and chop up onions and garlic. 

Then In a large frying pan combine onion, garlic, and oil. Bring the pan to a heat and cook until onions and garlic start to brown. Next Toss in crumbled tempeh and hemp seeds and stir with large spoon or spatula.

Add all spices to frying pan and mix again to evenly distribute seasonings. Remove heat after a minute or so. The total cook time for this easy vegan tempeh recipe should come to approximately 12-15 minutes. Additionally this vegan dinner contains 310 calories and 18 grams protein. Everyone will love this family friendly vegan recipe.

Ingredients

  • 13 oz brick of tempeh
