Tempeh is very nutritious. It’s made from fermented soybeans. Tempeh is rich in protein and fiber. It’s also lower in carbohydrates. Tempeh is a healthy plant based dinner recipe ingredient. It goes great in this vegan recipe for mushroom tacos.

Which is good for low carb and Keto diets. Tempeh also provides calcium, iron, and other beneficial nutrients. Tempeh is one of the top plant based proteins. It’s also rich in prebiotics, which are fibers that promote beneficial bacteria in your digestive system. Speaking of healthy digestion, this vegan taco meat recipe also contains mushrooms! You have to try this vegan recipe for mushroom tacos.

Mushrooms belong to the fungi kingdom. They contribute to healthy skin and hair, energy, and weight. Mushrooms are high in antioxidants which have disease prevention qualities. Furthermore mushrooms contains selenium. Selenium helps detox the body by cleansing the liver. It has cancer prevention qualities and can decrease the size of tumors.

I love baking mushrooms because it creates a dry texture. Masking the mushrooms more crunchy rather than chewy. Mushrooms are a healthy low calorie vegetable.

This vegan Recipe is plant based and gluten free.

You will need 9 total ingredients for making this vegan tempeh mushroom taco meat. Ingredients are one brick tempeh, 2 cup mushrooms, and 1 tbsp olive oil. For seasoning and flavor you will need 3 tbsp sriracha, 1/2 tbsp onion powder, and 1/2 tbsp salt. Also 1/2 tbsp paprika, 1/2 tbsp cayenne pepper, and 1/2 tbsp nutritional yeast.

Nutritional yeast is one of my all time favorite vegan seasonings. It tastes like nutty cheese. It’s also most likely fortified with an abundance of vitamins and nutrients. Including vitamin B-12. Although all nutritional yeast contains B vitamins, obviously fortified yeast contains the most. I always use the fortified brands as it helps my nutrition intake.

Fortified nutritional yeast is a complete protein. It contains all 9 amino acids the human body needs to function healthily. Fortified yeast is abundant in thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12.
