These vegan air fryer lentil sliders are the perfect plant based recipe for spring BBQs, picnics, and parties. Additionally they are the best homemade veggie burger recipe. I made these for my omnivore loved ones and they devoured them! Furthermore they’re cheap to make, plant based, and environmentally friendly. Lentils are a very nutritious and affordable legume.
This vegan lentil recipe is very affordable to make. Lentils are a very healthy plant based protein as well. Lentils provide protein, fiber, calcium, and vitamin C. They also contain iron, vitamin B6, and magnesium. Lentils are one of the healthiest legumes. That’s why these vegan sliders are so good for you.
At first I thought to use almond flour for this easy veggie burger recipe, but I was out of that ingredient. That’s when I realized I had an unopened box of croutons! Croutons are perfect for vegan sliders because they’re already seasoned and flavorful. Furthermore, croutons are crunchier than flour, which I find delicious. Not all croutons are vegan, so make sure you read the ingredients. Many croutons contains cheese or dairy of some kind.
It’s true that the majority of croutons are not vegan, so you’ll have to find a specifically vegan brand for this vegan lentil recipe. Vegan brands of croutons include Fresh Gourmet Organic Seasoned Croutons, Kelly’s Gourmet Cheezy Croutons, and Carrington Farms Organic Crouton.
All you need to make vegan air fryer lentil sliders is 1 cup lentils dry, 2 cups water, and 1 cup croutons of your choice. Vegan brands of croutons include: Fresh Gourmet Organic Seasoned Croutons, Kelly’s Gourmet Cheezy Croutons, and Carrington Farms Organic Crouton. One of my favorite croutons are Fresh Gourmet Organic Seasoned Croutons.
Other ingredients for this vegan lentil recipe includes 1 tbsp olive oil but can replace with vegetable broth for oil free. You will also need 1/2 cup almond milk and 1 tsp salt. Due to the fact that croutons already contain seasoning I didn’t add more than 1 tsp salt. However you can season the veggie patties to your taste. You can season your patties however you like.
The directions for this easy veggie burger recipe are so simple as well. First, use a medium to large cooking pot to cook 1 cup lentils in 2 cups water. Boil the lentils for approximately 10 to 12 minutes, stir occasionally.
Next, remove heat and allow lentils to cool off for at least 10 minutes. Then, in a food processor or blender combine croutons and lentils and blend until thoroughly combined. Add 1 tbsp olive oil, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 tsp salt into the food processor also, and blend again until thoroughly combined.
The easy vegan lentil slider “dough” should be thick and slightly sticky. Next, roll the lentil “dough” into 8 evenly sized balls. Line your air fryer basket with foil. Space out the lentil slider balls on the foil. Next, set your air fryer to 350 degrees F.

Recipe notes: I love to top my lentil sliders with vegan mayonnaise, avocado, lettuce, and vegan cheese!
I’m about to make these Vegan Air Fryer Lentil Sliders again for dinner. We have plenty of lentils, croutons, and seasonings for now. My son loves to eat these veggie patties in a sandwich with vegan mayo and avocado. They’re delicious in lettuce wraps as well.
I got my air fryer as a Christmas gift from my mom. I’m so glad she got it for me. It’s perfect for making Vegan Air Fryer Lentil Sliders. It’s also great for making dried fruit, vegetables, and chickpeas! What do you like to cook in an air fryer?
