Vegan Marshmallow Buttercream Frosting

My Vegan Buttercream Frostings are made without butter or coconut oil. This easy vegan marshmallow fluff goes great on cupcakes and sugar cookies as well. This frosting cream makes baking even more fun! I love this vegan marshmallow buttercream frosting. It is the best marshmallow fluff icing.

This vegan frosting is easy and so delicious! I  made it to frost a large cake. However I ate too much. I had to make another batch! This thick vegan marshmallow fluffy frosting is great for decorating cakes and cupcakes.

Vegan marshmallow fluff frosting makes for simple piping also. additionally you can add your favorite extract or food coloring to this marshmallow frosting.

I can make this easy marshmallow whipped cream frosting for any occasion. For example I made this recipe and added green food coloring. It was to make a Minecraft theme cake for my sons birthday. He said it looked “derpy” whatever that means. Either way this marshmallow fluff icing with green coloring made the best minecraft cake frosting!

I make this easy marshmallow frosting anytime I bake a cake. It’s so simple to make and only takes about 15 minutes at the most.

Non vegan Buttercream frostings often have egg yokes. Furthermore marshmallows generally contain gelatin. Gelatin is in many sugary products.

It renders foods no longer vegan. It is a gelatinous ingredient made from pork and other animal materials. This vegan recipe contains none of that. 

Vegan Marshmallow Buttercream Frosting requires only 3 ingredients! The first ingredient is vegetable shortening. It is thick and creamy. This product creates fluffy gooey frosting.

Vegan Marshmallow Buttercream Frosting

Vegan buttercream marshmallow fluff frosting recipe uses vegetable shortening as a base ingredient. It is solid at room temperature. Therefore it does not need refrigeration.

Furthermore you can Store it for one year. The sweetness in this frosting comes from powdered sugar and Smuckers marshmallow topping.

Powdered sugar is also called confectioners sugar. It is sometimes called icing sugar. Sometimes Powdered sugar is also called icing sugar. It’s made by grinding sugar into powder. You can make it at home. Just put granulated sugar in a coffee grinder! It helps creates that thick buttercream frosting.

Unfortunately Marshmallows are not vegan. Due to the fact that they contain gelatin. The gelatin creates shape. However marshmallow cream does not need gelatin.

Smuckers Marshmallow Topping IS vegan.
Marshmallow Topping is a creamy ingredient in vegan buttercream. It fluffs up with the shortening and sugar. I found it near the chocolate syrup at my local grocery store. It adds the yummiest flavor to vegan frostings.

It is important to use an electric mixer for extra whipped dairy free marshmallow fluff frosting. Start with the vegetable shortening ingredient. Blend it alone first to break it up. Then Add the marshmallow fluff topping and blend with the mixer.

Blend Vegan smuckers marshmallow shortening mixture into a thick paste. Then Add powdered sugar last. Add the sugar one cup at a time and blend in between. Otherwise you will cause a powder sugar explosion!

Blend the dairy free marshmallow fluff buttercream frosting thoroughly. Vegan marshmallow buttercream frosting should be thick and fluffy.

This frosting tastes delicious on cakes and bakes!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vegetable shortening
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 13.5 oz smuckers marshmallow topping 1 jar is 13.5 oz

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl add vegetable shortening

  2. Use electric mixer to beat vegetable shortening by itself in order to make it blend better

  3. Add the entire jar of Smuckers marshmallow topping and beat again with electric mixer until thoroughly combined

  4. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time beating with mixer in between cups

  5. Blend until thoroughly combined

Remember to add powdered sugar to marshmallow frosting mixture slowly to avoid a messy powdered sugar explosion.
